  11. A friend has an Amiga 500 and GVP Impact Series SCSI controller with
  12. 2MB of RAM. He bought a 340MB Maxtor SCSI-hard disk but it won't start
  13. spinning at all.

  15. The harddisk works in a A590 controller and another hard disk works in
  16. the GVP controller, except for that it prompts for somekind of a
  17. password which hasn't ever been defined!

  19. What could the problem be? Maybe the Maxtor needs more power when
  20. started up and the power supply of the controller is broken or not
  21. powerful enough?
  22. The problem isn't the cable inside the controller, it has been tested
  23. with a cable that works.
